I've persuaded my brothers to do a ride, In The Real World, on Saturday. It'll be the first ride they have done for a while :unsure: (20 years). We are going to be rolling round Richmond Park a few times (hopefully 3 or 4) just to get them used to riding on the road and up hills. I have been banned from taking the Cube with me :cry:.

It'll be my first time there and I was wondering about Cafés around and about there suitable for 3 hulking sweaty cyclists. It is mid way between us so I'll be driving across London with one brother to meet the other one there. Where is the best place for a cake and a coffee? :bicycle::mrpig::bicycle::mrpig::bicycle::mrpig:

Tb, the ones in the park are fine and just off the main circuit you will be riding. Lots of cafes in the surrounding area too. Get there nice and early to avoid the traffic and enjoy!

Did my first real TT test this year and I'm leaning towards the sportive atm.
The test was inconclusive due to a puncture, just when I had left the hilliest part with slight headwind behind me. At that point I was at 38 kph and 283 watt, so fairly good watts but without the long straight tailwind section, I can only guess about the speed.

This is the Strava section I use as my test basis:
https://www.strava.com/segments/18408197
It's a bit longer and more hilly than the ToC TT route, but that should make up for the more rough surface of the ToC route. I will need to do that section at about 41 kph to stand a chance.

Different tires for rough roads? Gatorskins Hardshell 28s?

@bridgy
havent done the long route before and can't help feeling there may be some feeling of regret if the weather is good and i dont bother - though i quite understand people not doing the long route ------- unless they are over 6ft in which case it is essential they do it to stop me ribbing them for ever more

How did the ride go TB?
More importantly, how was the cafe stop?
Are these being posted from the future? :blink:. What am I missing? :wacko:

I posted Monday and we are riding this coming Saturday, I hope, I'll be there and they've said they'll be there :unsure:. I'll post a report in all its gory details if you really insist. Just watch out for 3 blobs circulating Richmond Park, very slowly, :bicycle::bicycle::bicycle:.

Today's Strava looked really strong.
