When @Whorty was a mere mortal we worked together on one of the chaingang stages, IIRC @Breedon was also there to give us a helping hand for the first half.

If you look at the trace we averaged 20mph for the first hour at which time I believe a mechanical was had by @Whorty and he dropped off. I managed to keep going for another 40 minutes at or about 20mph to finish the 50k in 1hr 40. Pretty good for me then. You can see where I lost the tow as my heart rate jumps up.

If you gents get in a groupo and do a rotation you should be able to do that fairly well.

I think the only mechanical was my legs giving up and generally being unfit LOL My watts/Kg that ride was 1.7, and average watts of 137! Today's race was w/kg of 3.2 and average watts of 262. Almost double the Bkool watts  and clearly much better fitness. But then, in those days I didn't have a fan, didn't have clip pedals, didn't have a tyre pump that worked, and didn't know I had asthma :banghead:

Man, you should let us in on your technique for getting approval from the home office so fast. My slow introduce/ let it simmer before letting it slip that " oh by the way I'm dropping $100 on a race entry fee for a race next June...can I get you anything from the kitchen?" Takes time.
Pay first ! Worry about it another day - it might even slip notice - if it does then I only have to do an Oats and “ just nip out, I may be sometime

Just to add that the top 25% from each age category qualify for a UCI Masters event. It's 25% from the race event and sportive combined. I believe last year or the year before it was held in Australia.

It sounds like some of you might need to start laying the groundwork with your better halves now, just in case!

21+ mph. Club name was VR.CC. Andy I also said in the original post not to worry too much about whether that speeds realistic or not. It's just a way to try and get us as near the front as possible.

Just went to sign up and had to sit down, £75 is outrageous, once I've got my breath back i'll take another look later, the shock may have worn off by the time I get back from the club velodrome session later today.

It's the closed roads Kip. I'm not saying it's not a lot of money for a bike ride. It is obviously. But I doubt their profit margin is that high if that's any consolation.
