@Add looking back at this post it sure looks mean. It was meant to be sarcastic because you do so much as the Double Devil point man we have every right to demand even more...
Lol, sorry Randy, my impromptu departure probably looked like I was ignoring you guys, but I have just been maniacally trying to catch up on work, and had a big wedding to Best Man at, which has been surprisingly stressful. But all up to date now, and am getting back on the bike tomorrow morning for the first time since DD. But I've got a lot of training on it to do this year if I'm going to smash the 130 next year...which is my intention. I would have gladly written my version of events had I found the time, I was very frustrated when I lost what I had done.

just done the canyon bike fit on line and got this response -

It seems that your inseam and your height don't quite match up.
Do you have really short legs? Make sure you are measuring correctly. Measure right to the point you would normally sit on the saddle.
It is however possible that your body height/inseam measurement is outside this range. If this is the case, then please continue with your measurements. We will contact you if there are any discrepancies.
Normally you would need a Size S. However, your inseam length shows us your saddle height would be around around 63.7cm. A Size XS is therefore a better match for you.

who would have guessed
the bad thing is - i added 20mm to legs

I had the same message. With disproportionate short legs the stack and reach that are comfortable for me end up with a standoff height that is too high. Last weekend riding the custom fit Rodriguez steel bike outside was so much worse that it's hard to beleive. The Tripster had a 650b wheel size option that would have corrected this but I went back to the Orbea because it is a known comfortable ride and they offered $800 off.

I think I've found the right bike for a meet up. I'm 'Seriously' tempted. A customised Orbea GAIN M20i 19

I've just got to go to the local Orbea stockist for a chat .

@bobinski do you use Bon Velo. I'll be going to speak to them shortly.

Well I for one am relieved TB. It’s been at least a week since someone bought a new bike around here! seriously though I liked the look of your BMC. Not that I’m in a position to talk about buying n+1 bikes...

I can’t remember if I’ve put this link up before. But it’s really good for compairing frames to the bike you already have. You need to register your email or the figures they give you are false.

Nice looking bike.

I do use them and they are hit and miss. The German guy who works there. Is great but there’s an older guy who struggled to set up gears on an ultegra/105 swap. I had to get someone else to do it. On another occasion a crank came off a newly put together bike. So be careful and check who has put bike together. They are not in my good books because not replied to my email asking them to replace a spoke on a wheel. So no bike this weekend which is crap.

. Which one do you go to, the Half Moon Lane or Norwood Road one?

Initially it will be to get a sizing and see if it'll take my current, but shrinking, weight (I fairly certain it will,, finger, legs and eyes crossed). Then look at ordering in the config you see here .

Last year's ride down the west coast at 210 lbs with a 10 lb pack on my Orbea Avant had no problems. The new one should be here next week. It's the same bike just thru bolt axles now.

I'm learning it is not so much the frames that are the issue. It tends to be the wheels. The mavic wheels it comes with have a recommended max of 120kg for bike and rider. I'm a little over that on my own currently 123. Although I should be able to shift a fair amount quickly if out most days doing irw cycling . We shall see

Maybe the solution is to sell the wheels and get some handbuilts. Hand built doesn’t have to be expensive. To be fair though if they say max weight is 120 they should of allowed a decent margin in that.
