You can then pour water onto head and hat keeps head cooler
Chap i was talking to on the Dorset ride I did said the same, except he had a bandana rather than cap. He said it kept him cool as air flowing over the damp bandana worked really well. Might try this myself.

The cap also went for a dunk! Well worth the squelchy feet

The banadana’s a good shout too. I’ve thought the same.

I generally wear a casquette in the mountains as it is usually hot and I'm not moving fast but working very hard. There are usually roadside taps / troughs as well that you can stop at to dunk your cap and get a drink. Helps to stop the sweat running in your eyes and gives that cooling effect.

I’ve got a serious case of the post holiday blues...

Let’s start talking about CycleChat summer meet ups! Anyone got suggestions?

Anyone got holidays booked that need to be worked around?

Last years Isle of Wight meet up was ace. Ticking the box of social Ride but also giving a bit of an opportunity to have a (shortish) blast. It’s quite difficult to cater to everyone in a group but there are ways around it I think. For example if we were to cycle around the cheddar gorge area as Lee suggested while we were away. We could potentially split the trip between a couple of days. One day putting in a more challenging ride for those who want it. The next day a slightly less challenging ride. That way everyone could join the social ride but choose not to join the other.

Any thoughts? Maybe something to think about over the weekend
