At least the roads should be quiet that time of day on a Sunday!
Yes, because sensible, sane people will be tucked up comfortably in bed!!

Well at least I'll have gears I suppose.....I'm looking at you @Whorty - you still planning to do it on a singlespeed?
No, sticking with the geared bike. The SS needs a new brake cable and not got around to sorting that, plus, with so many CC on the ride now I want to try and stay with others but I might struggle on the SS

I’ve tidied the list up a little. If you’re a maybe on some or all of the trips... we’ll I assume we all are to be honest. Things change, partners say NO! :B) Etc etc...

I think it’s really good to get a list going early. I’m not trying to wish this summer away by any means, but early negotiations yeald the best results in my experience! My ‘tactic’, is to get a calendar set up. Pepper it with planned family holidays. Then write in the functions and trips my missus knows I don’t want any part of, but will be there to be dutifull other half. Weddings and kids parties being top of that list! Then I’ll fill in some of the blanks with our planned bike rides. Before she knows it I’ll be off to Majorca, with my factor 25, a suitcase under each arm, and a box that looks suspiciously like a bike, packed up and ready to go!! :bicycle::hyper:

Just occurred to me that I did the DD two years ago on my old bike with a 34/32 smallest gear which was very welcome in those Welsh hills. Going to be 36/28 this time....

Maybe get some 50/34 chain rings? Doesn’t hurt to have a set to keep your options open in future too. You’ll be grateful for it when your near vertical up them welsh monsters!

Best to change the front chain rings to 50/34 as you say or the cassette to one that has a 32 do you think? (if I just did one or the other)

I guess changing the chainrings is the easier fix? I did the DD last year on 34/28. I’m not sure it was perfect but it was fine overal. I think you’ll be fine mate. You’ll grind a bit up the steepest hills.

I don’t know the exact difference in ratio between the two options to be honest. I think TB has a good website to check.

If it was one or the other I’d prob change the rings. It’s probably less faffing about. And chainrings last forever basically. So you could get the 32 cassette at a later date if you wanted both eventually.

Thanks mate I'll have a think. Might just stick with what I've got and MTFU though!
