Very nice I'd be a bit paranoid riding that with all the idiots on the rd
Ordered my frame in the end went with 54 as on the defy the saddle all the way forward and I was concerned if I'd get it in same position with 56

That’s great news Rob. That’s going to look classy. I didn’t realise you had your saddle all the way forward at the moment. 54 does make sense in that case. Otherwise you’d end up with a tiny stem in it. A few more spacers under the stem but a longer stem which will make it handle nicer.

I’ve got my bikes covered under my house insurance otherwise I’d be too scared to ride them!. In fact it’s an insurance company that is set up by cyclists to give cycle specific cover. It’s world wide cover with no sneaky small print about not riding in sportives or a maximum distance above sea level etc. Really nice guys to deal with, based in Wales no less. They’re called ‘pedal cover’.

Back to Aero helmets. I like the look ( and weight) of this

User reviews suggest cool enough even when racing.

I'll give them a ring as my house ins is up next month my current bike insured with my home ins but I think they have a max value of 4k
I didn't realise it would be so difficult to pick bars and stem as I want the di2 junction box in end of handlebar

Another pedal cover user, would recommend them. It you mention Tommy when you call them they might send him a buff.

Bit of a mine field isn’t it mate. Are you thinking carbon or aluminium? Personally I like the shallow drop or compact bars. You could buy a couple of cheap stems from eBay until you’re happy with the reach. Maybe google image ‘road bike stems and handlebars’’ and see what you like. If you want an all black stem you can use acetone to wipe off all the branding if it has any.

Think id prefer Alu as that what I got now yes compact or shallow is a must and not to heavy it seams as if carbon or Alu not much in the weight difference
Was looking at the pro vibe aero

Lincoln GP Sportive was a great adventure, never done it before with it finishing up Michealgate, short sharp cobbled climb @ 12%

I wanted to get a longer ride and see if I was able to ride at 20+mph, yes, I know wasn't actually picking the best wheels and tyres to try that pace with 40mm G Ones. I actually averaged 20mph with a pack before the first food stop. what I noticed that whilst staying in the pack I had an HR 125-140 @ 20-22mph, soon as I found myself on the front it shot upto 170bpm. It took a little while for it to come back down once back drafting. So for ToC we will need to stick together or team up with others and regularly share the leading the front of the pack for short ish periods.

I rode most of the sportive after that alone. I eventually met the Wheeler's A team -4 riders. They thankfully let me hold their rear wheel and my pace shot up from 18mph to 22mph. I couldn't hold it though for more than 8 miles before I was dropped at mile 85. They made it look so easy and averaged 19.7 for the 100. :notworthy: Youfs ^_^

Too late I’m afraid mate. We’ve already had a vote and we all going to shamelessly shelter behind you :hugs:

(Great ride by the way )
