be warned Randy - i did go to your original route around here and where it ended near peterborough ,there was no road to get you to your hotel like i said
some of the mapping software for uk is a bit sus sometimes and it can try to send you up old footpaths and such that can be unrideable - i only knew because i looked on satelite map and i couldn't even see a path - i would definitely second check routes or have a few pages of a AA map packed
AA map books are dirt cheap in some places here and just cut out the pages you need and throw the rest

Also Google maps is good for helping which route to pick, they are very current and you can always do a street view of a road/path to see if it exists.

I didn't notice this warning until I went back to look. You have to carry your bike ?

if you look on the route near peterborough there is a farm track further just past haddon that runs along side a1 if you go thru a gate it looks like it is a concrete track that goes right to the back of your hotel -- bonus bubble !
please dont go on A1 and i shouldn't try the 605 either

That doesn’t seem too far for any of us
I never thought I would like meet ups as I usually ride alone but look forward to little jolly’s
It would be good if we did sometime take the plunge and go up Scotland - so many places to go - good job I ain’t old

Agreed mate. I think this is the closest I’ll ever get to joining a cycle club. I like the idea of going to Scotland. Jim’s rides look stunning. The errr changeable weather, could be a challenge. Lajog is definitely on my bucket list. Are you still planning to do it this year?

Guys I’m most likely doing this ride next Saturday. I have permission from the boss, it’s just weather dependant now.

Not sure if the location or price will be particularly enticing to most of you. But I figured I’d post it up anyway just in case.

I am like Lee, tend to ride alone. Or with a small group. I like the look of the route. Not sure why it’s on a Saturday though rather than a Sunday. Some of those roads are much busier Saturdays. Also, I baulk at the cost but that’s just me being tight perhaps. I can do either day next weekend
