After a few hectic hours at work I sometimes want to just take my lunch break relaxing and will often just sit there quietly reading a book.
There's one person though, who will come into the rest room and insists that he's got to sit there, and franticly flick through multiple til tok or YouTube shorts looking for videos to watch with the volume in his phone turned up full.
That's all you hear from it ,is burst of manic noises for around a few seconds before he swipes to the next video.
It's annoys me that much I end up either having my lunch break in the my car or sitting outside when it's nice to avoid him

I used to read on my lunch break too, and chose a time when it was quietest in the staff canteen with not so many chatty people around. However, there was a wall-mounted tv which was always on, showing awful daytime guff with nobody actually watching it. I would turn it off when I went in, as I was always first in the canteen at that time of day.

But there was one guy who’d come in with three or four colleagues, turn the telly on and then sit with their back to it and not watch it, just chat amongst themselves. What’s the point?!

Oh, and there was one other guy who was a heavy gambler, who’d come in (when he should be working) to put on the horse racing. He’d stand right in front of it with the volume way up shouting at the telly as the race progressed.

I eventually got my revenge on both…

That is totally ignorant. I would ask them to turn it down or suggest wearing headphones. You never know, people like that often try to bypass common courtesy until they are challenged, but will sometimes do the decent thing when asked

Postman delivered my letters and a "sorry we missed you card" today. I was working in the driveway at the side of the house in full sight. I said thank you to him as he walked past and he knows I am the homeowner !!!

a while ago I got a "sorry we missed you" card from a local company

so it appeared that a rela person had come round, knocked on the door, but no-one was in at the time
nice local touch

except that further inspection showed that it came in the normal post and was just delivered by the normal postman having been posted from a central national centre

I think it was from an Estate Agent or something

I had a similar "sorry I missed you" note from the Tory candidate in a recent local election. From my kitchen, I watched it being shoved through my letterbox.

AKA - people who live in a street like this are not worthy of my time

The (s)he clearly does not need your vote...

Thankfully we don't get this sort of thing in Germany, as cold calling is considered a breach of privacy.

When your phone runs out of charge. Why not have a 5% cut off then when you plug your phone in you can then carry one without it having to re start.
Also that 5% could be overridden for emergency use...🤔

Unless you are away from power sockets for 12+ hours at a time and hammering the battery on your phone, why do you let the battery charge get that low?

I charge my phone to only 80% (to prolong the working life of its battery - fully charging only for long journeys) and it rarely gets to below 40%. I just sit it on my wireless charger once it gets below about 60%.

My phone is currently at... [checks]... 65% charge. I will pop it on the charger next time I go downstairs into that room and 15-20 minutes later it will be back up to 80%.

One thing that can happen though... Battery management calibration can go out of whack. It happened on my laptop last night. The battery had just reported 90 minutes of charge remaining but then the computer suddenly went off without doing a proper shutdown. It killed the computer so I had to do a System Restore to a week or so back. Battery calibration can normally be restored by fully charging and discharging it a couple of times.

Some people do spend parts of their life outdoors, and not in a car. Hmm, this is a cycling forum, I wonder if any such people are here ...

I don't own a car. My phone battery has never gone completely flat, even when I got up at 04:00, did a 225km bike ride, got back, and eventually went to bed at midnight. I still had plenty of charge left.

I think you probably meant spending large parts of their life outdoors sat at a pub/cafe table constantly checking X/Facebook/TikTok?!
