Like I said, you keep taking it and I'll stay vaccine free and healthy. I bet you've had the shingles one as well!

I haven't been offered that one.

But generally, anything the medical profession feel I am at enough risk from for them to offer me a vaccine, I will take up the offer.

I am generally fit and healthy, and would like to stay that way for as long as posisble.

The council. All I want to do is get permission to replace a polycarbonate conservatory roof with a tiled roof. I go onto the portal, read all the "advice" which directs me to a load of external pages about building extensions, not relevant. I finally found a number to call, and was abruptly told that the planning department do not deal with this, and I am to contact building control. I say I am very confused and can they just tell me how to go about it through the Gov website, and they can't tell me. After a lot of begging and explaining that I do not understand or know where to start, they finally give me an email address for building control. I email building control and get an email back that basically says "do it through the online portal" :banghead:

It used to be that you'd drop in and have a friendly chat with the building control folk. I guess i'm showing my age.

Yes that would make sense wouldn't it, or even just talk to someone on the phone who actually does it for a living. But no, it all has to be done on the web portal. I have finally been directed to what I need to do; submit a building notice and pay £147. But wait, as part of the notice application I also have to submit a block plan. How do I get one of those? Easy! You click on one of the 24 external company links that the council website lists, and pay one of them £8

My computer suddenly deciding to change to an English keyboard mid-sentence.
Did you change when it did?

Howabout we leave it there, rather than get the thread locked.
Neither Covid, flu or vaccines are trivial matters.

Speaking just for myself, I can't risk any of them. Current, lifelong health issues have seen to that.

I know I do, and that includes on the cancer front. Others haven't been as lucky. Leave it there.
Which you suggested last night and I was willing to do so, but some will not let it go. As far as I'm concerned I'll agree to disagree and leave it at that. We've had our say and we obviously don't all agree, so there's no point in keep going on about the same subject. Anyway, best wishes to you! :okay:

There's a little thing that doesn't bother us at first, like a little foible we find endearing in a loved one until it grows beyond tolerance and makes you want to plunge a red hot poker into thei......but then becomes a MAJOR annoyance.

I'm going to go for the trivialest (is that a word? It is now!) thing that causes the most annoyance; i-pod and i-pad. Not the items themselves but their words! They are TOO similar and inevitably lead to you saying one when really, you are trying to say the other. It boils my tripe, that one does! Boils my tripe. 'Have you got the cable for the i-pad......i-POD, love?' One hundred thousand billion gaZILlion times a day that's heard in our house and it makes me want to earn so much money that I can buy Apple just so I can stop production of one of them and remove it from history.

And relaxxxx......

We don't hear much about I-pods now in 2025!
