55% of the subscription fees for YouTube Premium is shared among the creators of the videos watched by subscribers.

Yes, that does mean that Google get 45% but they host the videos and that is not cheap - I saw a figure quoted of $5 billion/year in 2019 for that.

I think that I am already doing my bit with subscription fees without having to watch long promos too!

(I don't mind a very short mention of a sponsor. "Sponsored by 'Really Fine VPNs. Use my voucher code to get a 15% discount on their great service." would be okay. Unlike a 20 minute video that I was watching the other day which had a sponsorship segment which was nearly 10 minutes long!)

I think the creator of the video has to say a certain amount of information to be paid.

Cycle nomenclature/categories are getting to be completely barking! a lot of all rounder hybrid bikes are now found under 'city bikes'...why? I certainly wont be using a Trek FX3 in the city. Another thing that bugs me [being old school] i consider anything with drop bars a race or sport bike/sport tourer and a hybrid bike is actually a road bike. On the Trek site FX Sport 4, 5 and 6 which are carbon fibre 'hybrids' appeared under adventure and back packing as well as on the 'fitness bikes' page. Back packing on a bike? or do they mean touring  and why do nearly all 'gravel bikes' have drop bars?

I'm not sure how they define a "city bike", or even why that category is necessary.

Hybrid has always meant something in between a mountain bike and a road bike.

Almost anything described as a road bike will have drop bars, it takes me back to my childhood (over 45 years ago) to think of anything with drop bars being a "racer".

Well I think they are putting them under the "adventure" part of that rather than backpacking as such, though "bikepacking" is more or less the same, just that the stuff is in bags attached to bike rather than on your back.

and why do nearly all 'gravel bikes' have drop bars?

Because that is the norm for gravel riding - which is only really different from road in having fatter tyres (which needs more clearance than most road frames have) and lower gearing.

It's all nonsense.

It's hilarious that what the weather will be for more than a few days at the best can be accurately predicted, yet there are long range claims of definite events. Yesterday I read it's definite Yorkshire will be under feet of snow on Feb 6:wacko: Although as I have that week on leave it probably will be.

There's moves afoot to get Yorkshire Day moved forward this year, white being the colour of the Yorkshire Rose.
There's some feel it's a sign!
