Those who insist they can only have butter and not other spreads. I use olive oil spread, as for me unlike butter it spreads easy, is low in saturated fat and doesn't give me gut rot. I know a few who insist there isn't another spread that gets close to butter, but there are! šŸ§

Come on Duracell. No need for this amount of packaging. Iā€™m sure they used to pack them much tighter.

Lazy or misleading journalism.
Cycling UK report on Scotlandā€™s first ā€œcycling mayorā€ in Inverness.
We do not have mayors in Scotland and in any case this person is not in local government.
A cursory read leaves the impression that this is the Provost of Inverness which is not the case and unless you are familiar with the difference in title you would not know any better.

Were you the one being lazy?
'Cycle mayors are already found in significant numbers in parts of Asia, Africa, North and South America, and Europe.

Seven have so far been appointed in English cities, with BYCS saying they provide ā€œa human face and voiceā€ for the grassroots cycling lobby.'

Does not alter the fact that as reported by Cycling UK it was misleading and gave the wrong impression.

Someone should be publicly flogged and hung.

But they are journalists, their eyes are on higher things. You mustn't expect them to be confused with facts and truth.

Might have been useful to keep explaining.

It is a campaign to get bikes to make up 50% of journeys. However, it is unlikely to ever happen without good regulation such as 20mph zones or banning short journeys.

Call me cynical but I think a lot of these "initiatives" are like that; the authorities know what will work, and they avoid doing that because it means change.

Instead, when the calls for change become too hard to ignore they make a new position like a "cycling mayor" or a committee to make recommendation for a time-scale to propose new initiatives, with the goal of increasing the number of journeys using active travel by 20% in fifteen years time. Because enforcing speed limits might upset car users.

Yup Oiive Oil products taste just as nice. (I now swerve butter as much as possible due to late-onset lactose intolerance. Very annoying, especially as the UK cafe industry seems to have now switched entirely away from "margarine" :cursing: :P
