Went to the local shop by the holibob park yesterday for essential bits ,we know that the prices are going to be more expensive and we never minded support the local shops etc.
I knew it had been taken over a while back as the local owners sold up .
When I got to the till they scanned and did the total which I questioned as I remembered some of the prices and the till assistant claimed that many of the shelf prices were wrong as they are not a big supermarket and they don't have time to update the prices .Bear in mind as I approached the till 2 assistants were standing and nattering.
I returned my basket and walked out.
Maybe I was overtired as I had a long day or would you be more understanding?

I'd have done the same. I went to my local timber merchant in an attempt to support them and not the big chain b&q. After asking 4 people who wouldn't help me, 2 of whom looked at me like I was shite, i dumped all the wood against the wall and walked out. I then went to b&q and got all the stuff I needed. It really annoys me the laziness and rudeness of some staff who just can't be bothered

This is the problem - they need to good staff
I went toone years ago for a small but important piece of wood
The bloke looked at my drawing and said - "so an off cut"
came back in 2 minutes with a pice of otherwise waste wood and charged me nothing

SO Iwent back there when I needed some proper wood pieces

same with the small DIY shop down the road
If you want some wood - give then the size and talk to them about what it if for and you walk out with exactly that

they can ciut it exactly to size in 1 minute - it would take me a while and some effort to cut it less accurately with the tools I have at home

People who fail to lick, or scrape, the yoghurt from the lid thus wasting lovely tasty yoghurt.

Those of this ilk probably don't eat the bit of egg white from the inside bit of a chopped off top of a hard boiled egg, too.

Wastrels!!
Egg eaters, avocado salads, marmite, hummus need I say more.

I had the same happen - I wanted 2x2 but they didn't have any, but they had 4x2 and were willing to rip it up on the table saw.
Job done and no need to visit another store.

I jumped behind the till, in another store of the same chain, to start serving the queue of people* who were waiting to pay. Store manager and other staff were too busy having a sword fight at the back of the shop to serve.

I'd got fed up(Can't put how I really felt due to the swear filter) at the antics at the back and thought I'd at least help those in the queue. Odd looks given when I did this, but they were grateful for the service. It took about ten minutes serving before they gave up their swordfight before seeing to the person behind the till. I wasn't in shop uniform at the time.

They'd had a delivery that morning and the empty boxes were still on the floor. We'd one the same day, but had got the delivery boxes off the floor before opening.

*I was amongst those waiting, and feeling much the same as the rest in the queue. Moreso because I'd tried to get them to give up their antics and work.

If that's the displayed price they have to sell for that price, cou could insist they do so- We've been caught that way a few times when different clients used different prices but it was our own fault so we had to sell at the price posted.
Also from memory you're going through a trying time at the moment so I'd be inclined to cut you some slack.

Thanks, trying time is the normal for me ,the way I look at it is I'm not starving or being shot at although sometimes the latter might be better than how I feel someday s

I would be with you there.

If they don't have time to update the shelf prices, then they don't have the right to change them in the system.

Everton losing, again.

I used to work for the Littlewoods organisation - founded by Sir John Moores who was a well know Everton supporter.

Apparently one year he was on holiday at a very expensive resort somewhere like the Bahamas and was sitting by the pool
It was Saturday in the days where the vast majority of games were ona Saturday afternoon
Someone he knew walked past him and commented "shame about Everton loosing today"
Sir John was rather surprised as the newspapers (no internet etc) would be at least 2 days late in that resort so he asked how his friend had found out
His friend commented "Oh I haven't been in contact with anyone - but it is Saturday so I just assumed"

Still - you have to admire and respect Everton supporters - all that data and experience and they still support the wrong team!

That was all going well, until the last paragraph...

There is a sign near me which said, "DO NOT DUMP RUBBISH HERE." The 'do not' was in dayglo orange and has now almost completely faded away. People with a limited grasp of English are now leaving their rubbish under the sign!

Everton originally played at Anfield. When they moved to Goodison Park Liverpool FC was formed to take over the old ground. If Everton had stayed where they where then there wouldn't have been a wrong team to support!

We spent nearly 2 hours traipsing around town with the kids moaning because Mrs CK wanted a certain sort of lunch but didn't want to pay a lot so we marched around and around and ended up saving about £10 compared to the first one we found.mini CK 1 spent ages in shops and swearing ,minick 2 just moaned Mrs CK was laughing at them which made them madder.ffs this is supposed to be a holiday and I'm ready to walk out on the bloody lot of them.
