People coming to the front door trying to make me sign for something.
Thankfully this and telemarketing rare because it's technically illegal under most circumstances, but today I had someone from Telekom trying to persuade me to sign up to their fibre optic connection.
He started badly, by being on my doorstep unanounced.
Then he started the spiel, which assumed I already knew about it (I'd heard something, but not registered it); assumed I wanted to have a connection to the fibre optic system, and was heavy on "I need to come and check your router right now, it'll only take five minutes." It was noticably short on how much this will cost; something I've known Telekom doing before.
As I hadn't considered this, I don't really care and my current connection works for Cycle Chat and anything else I need, and if I'm going to change something I want to find out the pros and cons and decide in my own time, not in fifteen seconds flat, thankyouverymuch.
I said I'd rather make an appointment, but I was about to go on holiday so it would have to be in two weeks.
"Oh, that'll be to late" he said.
"Okay, then I'll leave it. Bye."
Don't come back to UK then! Happens all the time!
