My partner who (in her car) leaves the lights and wipers in the off position at all times, when her car has auto wipers and auto lights. Just leave them both on auto and they come on when you need them, and you don't have to remember to switch them off! It shouldn't annoy me because it's not even my car and I only drive it occasionally, but it does.

See also the 'Auto' setting on a car's aircon. 😠

I often have the air con on "other than auto" - mainly because in hot weather the auto function decides the car is FAR too hot and puts the fans onto the very noisy setting
It would be nice to have a "auto but limit the fans to level3" setting - but there isn;t

My car's aircon auto function is actually pretty good - far better than Mrs Dr B spinning the knobs like some dashboard DJ. The auto-windscreen on the other hand is crap so I often have to intervene.

The one issue with leaving auto lights on is when the car has gone for a service and they get switched off and you do not realise.

I do sometimes offer to deliver within the city for an extra fiver, if the thing I'm selling will fit in the car easy enough AND if I'm desperate to get rid of the thing to free up space. There are plenty of people who will buy off you but don't have transport, and I'd rather deliver it to someone than take it to the tip.

As an aside - I see loads of tables, welsh dressers, big sideboards etc selling for very little money or free. And I've decided it's not that no-one wants them, it's that hardly anyone has the means to transport them to their home. I've used a van man before to pick up a cheap carpet off someone, and he charged £20 for a 5 minute trip, which was a third the price of the carpet. So anyone with a large van could make some good money (I think) by collecting all the free/cheap big furniture and then selling for a higher price but with free delivery. If they were so inclined

that's true. But I have to adjust so many other things anyway so I might as well do that. For example the seat is all the way back (as my mechanic is over 6ft) and I have to slide it 100 ft forward

Even with 'dual-zone climate control' my wife and i disagree on what is are comfortable settings, so i cant see 'auto' being acceptable!

That's something I can never fathom ~ dual zone climate control, in something the size of a car, how's that supposed be effective? You might get air at different temperatures blowing out of each side but the car's still going to end up at the average temperature isn't it?
Car warning bongs are another annoyance, especially the potential ice risk thing in the winter when the outside temperature gets down to 3 degrees or so ~ I know it's cold, but the road is bone dry so there's unlikely to be any ice is there ?

OK, a cycle-related one. The use of 'super' as a superlative, as in "today will be super-hard" and "for sure he's super-strong" by riders during interviews. I felt a bit of a heel as it seemed to be the non-native but absolutely fluent English speakers who were guilty, but I've just heard Adam Yates do it.

Stop it.

Music in shops ~ nearly every bloody shop you go into now has some annoying tinny pop sh#te blaring out of the ceiling . What's wrong with peace and quiet? Make no mistake, I'm a music fan and spend a lot of my life listening to music, but when I want to. I don't want this crap inflicting upon me when I'm shopping. There's an ASDA I go in occasionally that even has it playing in the bogs! It's just normalising needless noise. Pack the bugger in :stop:

Yes, ALL the way back, every time!
I think every garage has a resident giant as a mechanic.
