Over the course of the past couple of weeks I have redecorated all of downstairs to make it nice for Christmas. (No papering involved) just undercoat and gloss on the woodwork, emulsion on the ceilings and walls.

So I gets home from my ride the other day to find Mrs. C has put up all the Christmas lights up by sellotaping them to my newly glossed coving!!

Presumably, that is now the late Mrs. C

As I was passing a signalling left while dropping passengers off and picking up last night, the bus suddenly pulled out to the right forcing me to stop. As we do I blasted on my horn. The driver didn't give me a mouthful as such as I wound my window down, but said I didn't know the highway code. I always let busses pull out and flash my lights sometimes to let them know I'm doing so, but not when I've thought it safe to pass and they decide to pull out while I'm doing so. I haven't ridden a bike for two and a half years, but I still shudder remembering being in that overtaking a bus, wagon etc position when in a much more dangerous situation on a bike rather than in a car.

I am currently reading about somebody cycling the British coastline. The excruciating attempts to illustrate a “ Scottish” accent are really pathetic and are more like bits of English accents. I have never heard anyone speaking as he portrays it anywhere in Scotland.
While it is clearly impossible to have too much detail large sections of country and significant towns are just ignored as tho’ they did not exist. Not even a passing mention.

It's not a bloke who was a journalist is it from London from memory?

If it is that book I struggled on with it but was losing the will to live at the end. He totally glossed over Wales as if it didn't exist.

Just reading a book about a cycle ride from Mull of Galloway to Cape Wrath. Could be interesting but the author comes over as a patronising git and his depiction of how “ the natives” speak is truly cringeworthy.
Got it cheap in a charity shop and now destined for paper bin.

Whilst I haven't read the book in question, hence this is a generic comment.Well done for binning a crap book thus saving anyone else the time of reading it had you donated it back to the charity shop. I too do that nowadays; no need for another victims' time and patience to be wasted

My fruit fly 'community' is becoming problematic! At first there was about 100 of them, maybe even less. Now I'd say there's about 500 of them. I don't store old banana skins now and uneaten bananas are kept in a sealed, clear plastic bag. The flies missing the bananas and their skins have now moved onto my empty beer bottles. I know it sounds daft, but when I open a beer bottle they suddenly appear and mass on the kitchen cupboard door above the beer bottle. After a few minutes they start landing on the bottle and my glass. I have to cover both with things available like envelopes etc. I've had enough of them now and want shut. I tried leaving a banana skin on my outside window ledge yesterday while I went out. I left my window open hoping they'd all go for it and leave my kitchen, but when I got back 4 hours later not one fly was on the banana skin! All of the @'~#rs were still 'hanging out' on my kitchen cupboards. I don't want to use fly spray on them as they aren't really that annoying, but what else can I do?🤔

Breeding fruit flys accy? Are you trying to emulate early genetics experiments

Feckin' updates! What is it with Microsoft and updates?

I boot up my Xbox One once every few weeks and seemingly every time i want to play a game, I have to wait half an hour because the sodding thing needs to install some updates. So after half an hour, I click on my current favourite game and that says "SnowRunner needs to update" ...OK... but why didn't that get updated when i first turned the chuffing thing on?

Then i get this...

I'm sure the entire game wasn't anywhere near 25gb when i first installed it, and this update is 24.5gb... and will take 6 hours to install :cursing:

guess i won't be playing SnowRunner tonight

That's why I switched my laptop from Windows to Linux. It's a pity you can't do it with Xbox.
