The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Communication again...just had an email saying my insurance has been renewed...and i dont want it renewed. To tell them so requires a lengthy expensive phone call, selecting numerous options and jumping through multiple flaming hoops. I suppose they make this difficult as an elderly forgetful person may forget about it and their unwanted insurance is renewed for the next 10 years
This really annoys me.

When you buy your insurance, tell them at that point that you do not want auto auto-renewal. (Even if it takes a phone call)
Don't wait until they do it at the end of the policy contract.
It's much easier!

I immediately go online to the same company and get a quote for a new policy. Always much cheaper than the auto renewal. I then phone to cancel and quote the new policy figure - sometimes I'm offered an even better deal. Of course I always shop around for a better deal anyway :okay:

Why do so many cycling jackets have black panels at the sides? (other than black ones, of course )

People who have right of way in cars who keep giving way when they should not. I don't mean when your in a traffic jam, that's fine, letting people in.
In Oban there is a street coming from the retail park on to the main road with a halt sign. Most local cars let one car out and this seems to keep traffic moving and everybody is happy.

I was in a similar position a couple of months ago.
Instead of phoning them, with all the associated hassle you mention, I contacted them by email and told them I had already arranged a cheaper policy elsewhere, and wouldn't be renewing.
Worked like a charm. I got an email reply next day confirming that the policy would end as requested.

Even then, letting someone in in front of you is making those behind you wait even longer! I had one in front of me today who seemed to be looking to let anyone in in front of him to play the 'knight of the road' stuff. My thoughts were "You might not be in a hurry, but i am,so keep letting them in in front of you is affecting me progress to my destination"! :cursing:

Idiots who step out of houses, shops etc onto the pavement without looking, then collide with me really annoy me! I had one today who walked backwards out of a hairdresser's and backed into me. You wouldn't reverse a car without looking over your shoulder or in the mirror (in theory), so why do they not check before stepping onto a pavement?!!🧐

This habit that thick football fans on social media have where they replace a footballers first letter of their name with "P". I'm guessing to indicate some sort of disdain. Started logically enough with slating Ronaldo who famously seeks out penalties and scores a lot of them, hence "Penaldo".

Now it's anyone, no matter if they take pens or not... even managers are included. Parry Pane, Pack Prealish, Polskjaer, Puardiola, Po Palah.
What age are you mate, five?
On a similar theme, adding "-gate" to any scandal. Stems from Watergate of course, but that was named for the building complex where it started.

Why can Calmac not put their timetables on one page instead of insisting you have to print out several pages to get the timetable on two of them? It is possible to manipulate this to one page but a bit of a faff.
A bit like trying to make a phone booking when you have to listen to endless irrelevant verbiage before getting to talk to somebody. I cannot book on line as the system will not cope with concessions and only accepts full fare bookings. You can apparently book and pay the full fare and then go to an office to get tickets and get a refund on production of the appropriate documents.
