It's that time of the year when the leaves are turning yellow then falling off the trees and allotment owners and gardeners decide to burn piles of the things. Out walking this afternoon the choking stench of burning leaves and other garden waste was in the air. Who gave these idiots permission to pollute the air that i have to breathe?!

Those filthy flies with the kind of green chrome bodies were out in force yesterday. While eating a sandwich in the local cemetery they wouldn't leave me or my sandwich alone. I've seen them land on a dog doo daa before it hits the ground. They must be the filthiest flies in Britain!🧐

Motorists who zig zag from one lane to another in a motorway jam in the apparent belief that they will travel further/faster than the rest of the queue. Often with no thought of indicating, or considering the other road users
They will definitely travel further if they zig-zag, and given the extra distance from zig-zagging they will inevitably drop their average speed if they end up alongside a car that has stayed in lane. Motorists and common sense/courtesy don't go together.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
- zigzagging no, but sometimes changing lane is sensible - eg when the hold up is caused by a build up of traffic leaving the motorway. Often the outside lane will eventually move faster.

Both of those effects are negligible.

A motorist who takes, say, 3 seconds to change lanes at 70 mph will increase their distance travelled by 2 inches.

It's gone midnight, and I've just been "treated" to "this film contains scenes of violence that may upset some viewers. Viewer discrimination is advised. Not suitable for under 15's".
The film, The wind that shakes the barley.

May i add the word 'legend' to that Postie. Football wise, if an average player played for a few years at a club he's now regarded as a 'legend'.
