Somebody once wrote that mudguards are rendered ineffective, if one cycles beyond a certain speed
Perhaps we can put the extinct poster's theory to the test!

I am driving up Saturday morning.

I've just had the 'all clear' to do this one :hyper: - Di can now walk enough . . . . . . . to kick me out of the front door on Saturday morning ^_^ . She's had 4 lots of private physio treatment (£££s), but it's worth it, 'cos it's working . . . she even thinks that she might be able to play footie again in 4 or 5 weeks.

I shall be driving down on Saturday morning, accompanied by my brother-in-law - Rob. He's previously met LD, Banjo & CCelt and it doesn't seem to have put him off doing this ride .

Am I the only one intending to go to llandridnod Lake to start?

I anticipate that we will be at Llandrindod Lake, shortly after 8am. I assume that CCelt & his brother will be going there directly; in fact, aren't we all meeting there ? ('cos it's the starting point ?)

Great news. I think the plan was 0830 start from the lake so I will try to be there around 8 ish as well to be ready for the off. As most of them are staying in Newbridge I could have gone there if I was the only one going direct to the lake .

Are the Newbridge crowd riding down to the lake in the morning?

Yes and riding back again, afterwards.

Looks like about 5 miles.

LD said it was 'about' 5 miles . . . . . . . which means. that it'll probably be 7 or 8 miles . . . making a total of about 115 !

Well, I did put forward the idea of driving to the lake and shall moot it again as it gives more time for breakfast at the Newbridge end. LD can cycle, I have no objections.

We can fine tune it on Friday night over a nice cup of cocoa, Crackle.
Glad you're back on board pubby and tell your wife that I advise giving up footie - it wreaks havoc with your body after a few years:sad:
In other news, I have superglued a split in my tyre - never done it before but Ducky says he has...

...but it didn't work.

Cheers Rich, I'm looking forward to this one; not sure why, 'cos my very modest mileage isn't really adequate for what will be only my 2nd 100 miler. I'm also well aware, that LD has the (sadistic) tendency to 'up' the pace towards the end of a ride - Welsh nobber ! ^_^

If we have a few (lengthy) breaks , I should just about be able to complete the ride.

If my travelling companion (Rob) has the time, perhaps we'll be able to have a pint afterwards ? I think that Rob might be in the doghouse anyway; his wife (my sister) is currently working away and only gets home for weekends - I don't think that she has any idea of when he might return home^_^ . Fortunately, Llandrindod Wells is only 50 miles, so it would be good if we can have a pint with you Southern nobbers, before we go home.

I think that she'll carry on for a couple more seasons; after that, she'd probably be up for coming out on a few CC rides - she's a very strong cyclist.
