Unfortunately, I'm working but might just catch the end of Stage 5 Northampton - - > Northampton in 7th September.

@Jenkins might have to get his deckchair out for the finish in Felixstowe!

Thanks for the link, I’d missed the Tour of Britain. Looks like it is well spread from Scotland to Felixstowe. I might even get to Whitby.

On a whim I've booked a train ticket to Darlington to see the tour on Wednesday 4th. I'll be arriving at the station at about 10.15. Can anyone suggest a good spot within walking distance to watch from?

@annedonnelly It rolls out down the Yarm Road, which is very close, although you're still in the Neutralised zone there, they are literally rolling along behind the lead car. If you want to make a day out of it you could watch them roll out from Darlo @11am and then head down on the local train to either Redcar (for the finish) or Saltburn - to catch them twice on the circuit there at the top of Saltburn Bank?

A short walk of around 300 yards from home and I'll be able to catch them as they fly through Trimley high street, but no time to make it to Felixstowe seafront for the sprint finish as well.
Based on the women's race finish a few years ago, you need to be in place well in advance to get a good view of the final sprint.

Saltburn bank would be a good watching point due to the hairpin bends so you will get an extended view , tough climb as well did it was October while I stayed up that way

Note to self - don't think about going out to the East / South East on 7 Sept  King of the mountain is stretching it a bit too

Thanks but I've a return train booked for the afternoon. I expect there'll be stuff going on around the start to take a look at.

And it's a chance to have a look around Darlo as I've not been there for years.

I must set a reminder to take my folding bike. I get the train to Nunthorpe.
Bike spaces, walk on, will be no go.

Start time is 11 am so if the train is on time you could cycle to Middleton St George if you wish.
Edit - block graph seemed to show Sadberge but the Google map certainly shows MSGeorge further south which has a very nice cycle route there.

- Edit timings now available, as posted above. https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/tobmenroute
