Uphill with no lead out and beating the uphill specialists - got to be Cav's best win to date imo. Bloody superb.

Geraint Thomas was fifth!!

Yes, just watching it again. Cav came a long way, up hill and out dragged Gilbert and Hushvold. Amazing stuff.

He came across pretty paranoid in the interview, seems to think the organisers design courses against him and HTC, and look to dock point from him! He's not the brightest of people sometimes but I really like it. Heart on sleeve stuff.

Cav looked like his heart was going to stop when they got him off his bike!
still looked spaced out during the interview, what was with the anti HTC thing he was on about ?
some of those crashes today... ouch is all i can say, some really nasty injuries going on

why have they been declassified from the intermediate?

i know boonen made it in +13 mins after that fall, he looked damned uncomfortable all the way after that tbh but why has rojas lost the green?

Can't really understand that (not the decision, there was blocking going on) but the names involved... perhaps I've got the details wrong???

Edit: as raindog has confirmed it for me, I can rest easy! My understanding of French is obviously getting better!

It's called racing for a reason. Jeesus, they'll be issuing overtaking/blocking/veering off line licences next.Whingers like Cavendish should expect and accept what they get in return.

I laughed at Ben Swift's texted comment on today's stage:

"Was funny that I couldn't get out of the ditch I was stuck upside down. mate this race is ****ing insane."

He seems to have the right attitude.

Just found this on the Radio Shacks website:-

"In an extremely odd incident, Saxo Bank’s Nicki Sorensen was hooked by one of the many passing motorcycles and was literally dragged off his bike to the ground. (Word had it that the motorbike operator working for the Tour organizers was pulled over and sacked on the spot.)"

When I saw it live and all the repeats of it, I could not fathom out where his bike had gone initially, until I saw his saddle on his bike trailing behind the motorbike as the bike had come attached to the motorbike and was being dragged along

A good win for Cav and some of his post race comments are quite 'sharp' but justified IMO.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
