i loved that the ITV4 playout music selected was "Is Vic there?"
Lol good choice ! I rarely watch ITV if I can help it,Millar and Boulting bring me out in a rash !
Over on the Eurosport I've enjoyed Larry Warbasse on commentary...should have him and Kelly on together, just for the laughs 🤣

What happened in 89?!🤔🤣

the most notable things were Delgado missing his start slot in the prologue, adding 2.40 to his time and then in TTT split stage the next day, his Renault team had a disaster as his shipped another 4+ mins to Fignon & Lemond.
:okay:

In 89 I'd just come back from living in the US where I met a guy who enthusiastically sold the TdF to me as the greatest sporting event in the world so I followed it via miniscule newspaper reports. I didn't have a telly at the time. I do remember watching tour coverage on a friend's B&W portable but I'm not sure if that was 89.

Vingegaard likes the parcours...

...Cav, not so much. I bet he wishes he'd retired now!

This comment aged badly.....

So Visma have 2 riders in the break and hence 2 less to help Vingo in the bunch if Remco tries anything, unless they thinking it will all come back together on the final climb, but those two Visma guys will be doing a fair amount of work as the break appears to be all working together well.

Odd tactics.

No points to Phillipsen in the intermediate sprint and only 20 points left on the road in the form of tomorrow's intermediate.

So, assuming that Phillipsen doesn't actually win today's or tomorrow's stage (a fairly safe assumption I think) Girmay is now completely safe in green.

Netflix cuts to Jasper the Disaster doing a Downfall-style rant on the Alpecin bus.

Girmay still has to finish the race of course.
