I can't remember which rider said it on the ITV coverage, but I thought that his point had merit...

When a sport has a relatively small pool of athletes, the true genetic freaks may never even find their way into that pool. Once the sport starts to get a lot more publicity and money, the chance of those freaks finding out about it and feeling that it is worth the effort of getting involved increases dramatically!
Jack Haig, if I recall correctly.

Fingers crossed Bini isn't too sore, should be ok for Green I think...he's a better climber than Jasper as well 😁

2 stage with the sprint before any serious hills, 2 stages with big hills before the inter sprint. Hopefully jasper will get dropped on at least one of those hills, although saturday will probably see neither anywhere near any inter sprint points. I still think 32 points is too much to overhaul, unless Bini is really suffering to an extent he cant get any points on the two "early in the stage" sprints

The recommendation (in the UK) now is don't test, but stay home if you are unwell with COVID like symptoms.
There is no recommendation not to test, is there? Just that there is no recommendation to test unless eligible for treatment, and no free tests any more. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/covid-19/covid-19-symptoms-and-what-to-do/

ASO have reintroduced precautions for media and organisation around riders. There was some comment about others masking in the media zone and Pog not, but I guess he's relying on his recent "mild" case to give him immunity.

I was basing this on the Welsh government site, which may be different to the UK one
https://www.gov.wales/get-tested-coronavirus-covid-19

Eligibility for free testing NHS COVID-19 lateral flow testing

Most people in Wales are no longer advised to take a lateral flow test if they have symptoms of COVID-19. You can find guidance for people with symptoms of a respiratory infection, including COVID-19 here.

Another possible reason for the recent uptick in performances is (and I've forgotten who suggested this, I read it somewhere) data

The current crop of Pog, Jonas, Remco, Pidders etc are the first generation to have had access to massive amounts of training and physiological data throughout their entire lives.

I don't know there's anything in that, but it's an idea

Same thing near enough. It says no longer advised to test, not advised not to test.

Anyway, back on topic, Pog thinks Jonas has been huffing "car exhausts" https://www.theguardian.com/sport/a...-sprints-to-third-stage-win-of-tour-de-france

Vingo's response may resonate somewhat with followers of British politics:
Vingegaard has always denied any performance enhancement, legal or otherwise. “I can tell from my heart that I don’t take anything,” he said in July 2023. “I don’t take anything I would not give to my daughter.”
