Really enjoying the tour this year. Yesterday was the first day I fast forwarded to the sprint. The subplots between the top three or perhaps four are fascinating. ITV4 is doing a great job, so much more than the Eurosport offer. I’m a big fan of Gary and Ned and like the variety, it’s a nicely balanced highlights show,

As much as I’d love this to happen, I think it’s unlikely as DG is only at 4 minutes from yellow.

ITV4s highlights show is always far better than Eurosports poorly edited offerings although they did manage to put a better highlights program out on ultra low res DMax for the Giro. Live Discovery + wins through the lack of adverts.

Whenever he gets chased down by the teams of the GC leaders.
It won't stop him trying, but it will stop him succeeding in getting in a break that ever gets more than a minute or two ahead.

Actually, thinking about it while cleaning the kitchen floor, is that IPT should send two of Neilands, Williams and Fuglsang up the road...
...for DG to pick up later!

Could be a perfect stage for either or both of Williams and Onley.
Might be a bit too warm for Williams though!

Does this count as a mountain top finish or not? It goes uphill to the line, but isn't a summit?

There maybe a small uphill in the last 1-200m but last 2km are downhill from the final Cat3, so no.

There are 8, 5 and 2 bonus seconds on the last big climb, Col de Pertus (Cat 2), 14k from the end.
