Yes but fell off and injured his wrist on a cobbled stage. (Before they actually got to the cobbles)

I think it's an interesting trend, but Pog's sheer youth seems to rule out any ideas about him sliding into decline now.
This year he's just losing to a better rider. Maybe Vin will continue to be the better rider for 5 years? Maybe not?!?

Seems harsh.
I imagine the bike stalled because of the crowds encroaching on the road.
I haven’t ridden a bike for years but I recall that if you stalled a bike in gear it can be very hard to find neutral and get it restarted.
Even harder with a pillion and loads of crowds shouting at you.

A few years ago we heard the same about Pog...nobody can touch him, he's going to dominate the Tour for x amount of years.
Maybe if it bothers him that much he'll focus only on the Tour, personally speaking though I think he's been class,showed he's only human.I prefer him riding the classics and other races to him becoming a bit pure GC rider.Imagine if he hadn't been here what the GC would look like.😁
Mate summed it up over a pint the other night saying it's not like you don't like Vingo,it's just you love watching Pogi more.

I was there! Epic stage - the weather was ****ing disgusting. I was at the start of the long Wandignies section of pavé and I remember Thomas coming around the corner to start that section with a face that looked haunted. We were stood next to a small group of locals with a radio who got very animated telling us that Froome had abandoned.

Indeed, and having to crawl along to weave through the crowd makes it more likely to stall. Mind you, at least they dont have to kick start them whilst balancing the weight of a pillion, unlike back in the day.
