Lots of noise in other places saying it was too good to be true.
I hope they are wrong but a performance like that will always attract unwanted attention.

Yeah, I’ve been about the interbobs and picked up the same vibes. Probably not the thread for it unless something blows up, but the thought had also crossed my mind.
Some say it after any great performance in cycling, always going to happen.Better if you love the sport just to take it as a great performance you just witnessed.Hes a phenomenal cyclist....so is Vingo obviously 😁

I’ve spent enough time and money to be at the roadside to class myself as a fan. I enjoy the spectacle, the culture and the random encounters that happen when you watch a cycle race.

As far as the riders go, I admire the ridiculous levels of athleticism but for a whole host of reasons I can’t bring myself to engage on an emotional level. I hope it’s all clean and above-board, but I’m not going to invest too much emotional capital in case it turns out to be otherwise. I’ve got preferences, but sleep will not be lost.

The internet is always going to be full of sh1te. The speculation is entertaining but it’s not going to change the podium.

I think that tomorrow and Saturday UAE will have to gang up on Vinny and Jumbo with as Duffers used to call it,
" the old one two" a bit of old school racing like Jumbo did to Pog last year.
A bit of attacking on one of climbs, possibly the last one.
It would seem the only way for Pog to get back some time

It's a shame Yates isn't just a bit closer to the leaders (in so many ways)

If he was at +4 minutes or so UAE could bluff Jumbo into using energy marking him because he'd just about be in striking distance. At almost +9 minutes that's not going to work I guess.

Tadej Pogacar after losing time to Jonas Vingegaard today. "It’s definitely not over, especially if it is raining tomorrow and then I can promise you it’s going to be interesting."

Lance was a fantastic athlete.

Really not directed at anyone in general but there's a thread in pro cycling section dedicated to doping....anyone can say anything they want in there, well you can say it in here but the majority of us who follow and love this sport will take it with a pinch of salt,so don't spoil it for us ? The race isn't over and I've got plenty of enthusiasm and emotion invested in it 😁

Yeah I don't believe Vinnegard is doping.

A more feasible explanation is that while we have watched the two of them supposedly riding on the limit and inseparable in terms of ability. It would appear to me that Vinnegard wasn't on the limit at all - Hence he always had something in the tank when Pog attacked ........and of course felt pretty fresh for yesterdays TT ....

Vinnegards unwillingness to attack has made the race seem much closer than it actually is

I wanted the 'Pog 'n' Chips'* show to continue, but, alas.

* - Vinegaard... Vinegar... 'Chips'.

You need to have a word with your writers.

Ok, if it’s going to happen, then it has to be today. Or stage 20. Or maybe both. Dunno. Either way, a couple of seconds grabbed in the last k aren’t going to do the job now. Do UAE have enough as a team to break JV and then work over an isolated Vinegaard? I’d love it, but I can’t see it happening. Otherwise Pog has to go early on the Courchevel climb and hope for a mythical bad day from Vinegaard. Again, possible but unlikely from what we’ve seen.

Oddschecker has Vinegaard as 1/10 to win the tour, which feels about right.
