Aha - week 15 and I have caught a cold! I don’t feel too bad sitting around in the warm doing nothing but exertion is a different matter!

I just showed a roofer up to the attic room to quote for a roof repair and was completely out of breath by the time that we got up there!

I may have to limit myself to 3 very slow, easy, and boring valley road rides this week.

I am supposed to be doing a metric century on Saturday but I will need to get better very quickly for that to be viable.

If you're still feeling rough by Friday, I'd be inclined to re-schedule your metric century. It'll take a lot out of you
Yes, I have already posted about that possibility in the ride thread. It is a nice flat route but it would still be too much if I am not feeling better.

I just remembered that my MTB is available... I could do easy towpath rides to get my 3 x 30 minute rides in. The towpath (obviously!) is flat apart from at locks. I wouldn't go towards Hebden Bridge because there are cobbled spillways in the way. Heading the other way should be fine though.

That is a serious wall ...

Good photos, Colin ! ... and your MTB looks fine too.
Funnily enough, I have been using that path for years but hadn't realised that the wall was right next to it until you mentioned the wall and I took more interest in it!

I wonder if that little brick wall on top was added some time after the original big wall? There was originally a railway marshalling yard up where the path now is.

There was originally a railway marshalling yard up where the path now is.

Along with many lost railway lines in and around the Pennines. I knew about the marshalling yard .. I think because it was featured on 'Canal Journeys' (or whatever that TV programme was called).

Now you've got your MTB sorted, I'm looking forward to seeing more photos from the Rochdale canal. You can go south from Tod on the canal?

Glad you managed to recover enough energy to complete Week 15. Shortly after commiserating with you about your cold on Tuesday afternoon, one of my front teeth fell out - the dentist is booked up until early May so I have to live for the next 3 weeks with not being able to eat properly or say the letter 'F' - it comes out as a whistle ....swearing is a problem ... fffffffxxk it....

Another failure for me. Just to much wind early in the week, then no chance to ride Thursday & Friday, so only got out yesterday and today.

I think I'd better drop out of this challenge, I'm almost certain to fail at least one week in May, possibly more.
