The Thompson twins were clever to the extent that they made a bit cash by crashing the new romantic party, without having the same quality or edginess of music as Landscape or Gary Numan.

They were more like '3 of a kind', the sketch show of the time, than a valid new romantic band.

I been away for a few hours, and the place goes downhill with all sorts of eighties nostalgic nonsense.

The Thompson Twins were shite, right? :biggrin:

If you want a great eighties band named after a cartoon sequence or charactar, go out and get into The Teardrop Explodes.

No, as I said in the OP it was just that Ms RT found a Thompson Twins cassette (cassette, for christ's sake!) in her parents' loft yesterday. It seems to have struck a chord among the rest of the forum.:biggrin:
