My go-to for stuff too. Fast delivery and no quibble returns if there is a problem.

Yes, it is terrific and our orders are mainly for things that we could spend hours trudging around Kendal looking for to no avail.

Even more compelling if you get free delivery on everything thanks to your daughter's Prime account. As I mused to myself recently...

I can feel myself getting drawn into the orbit of Amazon.

Sitting here on the sofa reading a book, the light fitting on the first floor that I've been trying to fix today suddenly came to mind, and I'm thinking, given the effort I'm going to, why not fit a new one? That one is so tatty and ugly. And then I suddenly think: Amazon!

Sure enough I go do a search and within two minutes I find an MK ceiling rose fitting for £3.30. Free delivery, tomorrow.

So I don't have to wait till tomorrow and find 40 minutes to cycle over to the DIY superstore down in Green Lanes. Or even to Patel's, where the same thing (if they have it) is probably £5.95.

No. All I have to do is press Buy Now, and at some point tomorrow the doorbell will ring, and someone will place it in my hand.

What's not to like?

Just buy everything, cheap, free delivery, tomorrow. Sorted.

Why would you want to buy things any other way?

The gravitational pull...so invisible, so irresistible, so strong.

Prime is excellent - great value.
