My Dad was RAF ground crew in WW2 - Armourer on Stirlings then Halifaxes

Part of their job was to get all the bangy stuff out of the plane after it landed after a mission - including bombs and bullets - before anyone else goes near the aircraft .Clearly crew left first whether OKor wounded but crew that were clearly dead were left until the plane was declared safe

This meant he would be the first into the rear gunners turret to get the remaining ammunition
He mentioned once, after a drink or two, that turrett could be a bit difficult if the gunner had been hit by cannon fire from a fighter - never mentioned it again

Not every NHS worker is a hero.

I'd like to be able to put antisocial or annoying people on trains straight with a bit of blunt talking but I'm not confident enough.

Instead I'm about to get up from my seat and sit elsewhere because someone is obliviously annoying me with something that's bad form on a cramped train.

I'd like to say that I didn't get the measurements wrong when spending £50 on new locks... :whistle:

:banghead::cursing:

I'm hoping that the supplier will kindly swap them for ones of the correct length. (I think they will because of Amazon's free return policy.)

Honestly... At only 50-ish, you really should NOT be thinking that you are 'elderly'! :wacko:

(I was looking at some reviews on Amazon and a reviewer who said that he was 50-something was complaining that the remote control for his TV was designed for 'youngsters' and not for 'the elderly'! :whistle:)

'Who do you think you are you entitled tw*t! Just because you drive a car the size of a tank you think you are above the rules of the road!
That is what I said in my head dear reader as I held steadfast crossing the roundabout with my right of way why some tw*t in a giant white w*nkpanzer tried to bully me out of his way.

Carbon fibre... LMAO!!!
You're lucky I had the dog with me or I'd have chased you to the lights, dragged you from your seat and kicked the living **** out of you.

To an impatient taxi driver who wouldn't wait for me to pull in and let him pass safely. Passed me with about an inch (literally) clearance from my bar.

Return collection booked for tomorrow! (I do have to pay £2.79 return postage, but fair enough.)

When the refund is in in my bank account I will reorder, but this time make sure that the lock cylinders are the correct length!!!

Meanwhile, I have turned the old lock cylinders round so the cm lengths that stick out are inside the house, rather than tempting ne'er-do-wells outside to snap a lock to gain entry.
