AI in vehicles that can. determine who is at fault in each crash and then produce a large spike in the steering wheel instead of an airbag. This would encourage people to drive more carefully.

Just mount the spike permanently to the wheel as an inventive not to run into things.

Not my idea, but a good one, I've always thought. Back in the 80s there was a splendid performance car magazine called Fast Lane. In one of his columns, the editor Peter Dron (still alive and kicking, I was pleased to discover) posited a solution to those twin urban menaces of pigeons and people with loud stereos. 'Part vacuum cleaner, part gun' it would fire the avian at the human. Would also work for errant riders of e-bikes, etc…
