I’ve already seen hot cross buns for sale. Move over mince pies, make way for fruity cinnamon delight!

To be fair X-buns seem to be on sale all year.
There is a pub , here in Essex ,that has a tradition of nailing a X-buns to the rafters each year, from the local bakers, never visited it till now, but regularly cycled past the pub on my way to the Tilbury ferry.
Maybe I'll go look to confirm, seems an odd tradition, but then us Brits are odd.

Saint Valentine (Italian: San Valentino; Latin: Valentinus) was a 3rd-century Roman saint, commemorated in Western Christianity on February 14 and in Eastern Orthodoxy on July 6. From the High Middle Ages, his feast day has been associated with a tradition of courtly love. He is also a patron saint of Terni

Not in the sense of the 12 days of Christmas,is it a religious festival, it's commercial ,grant you that, but as a festival, it's more a 'Leg over' gymnastics, than a Bacchanalian delights marathon
