Horror is crap, only for inadequates and teenagers...although seeing Radcliffe's eyebrows on the large screen would be something to behold.

I do like a good old scary 'jump out of your skin' film. Incideous started that way (I loved the gas mask scene) before it ran out of money half way through the film and became just odd!
I must confess to enjoying a quality Zombie film though. For those that want the best of both worlds, I strongly recommend 'REC'. A bit different and I wouldn't go near my loft for weeks!

There was a couple of moments when I jumped as they do the suspense thing fairly well, but it wasn't as strong on the story line as potter. I guess that is because there isn't time to establish good character development in a couple of hours - but then again, there are some very good films out there which do.

I didn't come away from it with a head full of horror scenes. I think the main draw is that it is Ratcliffes first big production since the potter films, and wouldn't have been rated as well otherwise. He wasn't bad, but it won't be in the all time list for me (I wouldn't go out and buy the DVD)

Daniel Radcliffe heading north in a steam train to sort out a mystery? Seems kind of familiar ^_^
Very good film though, I enjoyed it!

Thought I'd seen a thread on here recently so excuse the bump!

Went to see the film Saturday and was really looking forward to it. Totally spoiled by the amount of 10 - 13 yr olds, obviously bored or could not be arsed to get into the film. Feet on headrests, phones going non-stop, food thrown, talking, giggling ... rant rant rant. We walked out about 45 minutes in.

Never again would I bother going to see a '12'.

I watched this last week. It was a Hull cinema and unfortunately there was a gang of kids in the front rows who got on some kind of high during the very lengthy pre-film bits and didn't seem to be watching the main film at all. People were telling them to shut up but it kinda wrecked the atmosphere. Why did they bother to go?

Have now acquired the 1989 dvd to watch at home.

I think the Cinemas should take responsibility for their behaviour by filling the kids with fizzy drinks and sweets (seeing as they don't allow people to take their own refreshments in). If your enjoyment is in the slightest spoiled, they should offer a sliding tarrif of refunds ;)

Vue - Princess quay does some 18+ only screenings so you don't have to put up with the youths. Or you feel embarrassed going to see The Muppets without a child in tow ;)
However having gone to see Chronicle this week it's not only those under 18 who need vetting.

I thought the film was rubbish to be honest. The 'scares' were all the shock jumpy moments, which I think is quite cheap horror - set up so you know it's coming, but it still makes you jump when it does then it's all over until the next moment. The film was slow and the plot predictable.
