I had a Fireball XL5 that was fired by a catapult into the air and then was supposed to descend on a parachute. It never descended on its parachute - all it did was come down at much the same speed as it went up. After a few goes, there wasn't much left to go back into the air again.

I was looking for this, but thought it was Joe 90 for some reason, so missed it out until later when I could remember what it was :laugh:

We had the toys as kids in the '80s with all their magnets, folding up abilities and mechnisms for opening and shutting so you could transport things about in the larger spaceships (they were bloody clever and well designed toys actually*), etc, but I do not remember a cartoon for it too!:

* - I ended up with two of these beauties (one we got new, the other second hand), the 'Starmax Bomber' and I loved them, although there were other things with much more exciting opening and unfolding mechanisms.
They were quite brilliant (between my brother and I, we had quite a lot of things).
Oh and there were figures too, who were, of course, magnetic to stand/sit on many of the surfaces on these things.

My favourite by a country mile, the Starmax Bomber, which could also double as a pretend Space Shuttle or an airliner of sorts!!:

And these were the bad guys, complete with an explanation on how it came about.

We only had one Shadowbat and a few of the parasites:
