Good result for us today, maybe a wee bit closer than I'd have liked but a solid performance overall.
If Ireland win (and I hope they do, even though I'm not a fan of them by any stretch) I'll have a clean sweep of results in the opening weekend of my domestic prediction league which would be a first.

Don't think England really deserved the bonus point there to be honest, that second half was very poor.

Ireland got there but gave England a chance they weren't good enough to exploit. Some weak individual mistakes. Mitchell and Steward made mistakes, then Genge left a gap for the key try just as in the autumn, the back three are not coherent. Im more disappointed with England after that than in the Autumn defeats. They will probably get beat by France, then it’s a real scrap with Scotland.

I still think England have the makings of a fairly decent side. However I'm now beginning to doubt whether they will actually make that decent side.

Bonus points are cobblers anyway, but Ireland didn't really deserve a bonus either. But they got one - because bonus points are a load of cobblers.

England always flatter to deceive. They looked strong in defence until Ireland found their rhythm, but Ireland, surprisingly for them, lost concentration when they started thinking that the game was won with only 5 minutes left on the clock.
