Scotland were terrific and it was great to see them celebrate in true Scottish style, with a bag of cans.
I was disappointed with Scotland. I mean - lager drinkers, who would have thought it!
The Caledonian brewery isn't far from Murrayfield, surely they could have got hold of some Deuchars IPA.

Weird match. How did France manage to be only 7 points up at HT? Italy were nowhere, France just lacked finishing accuracy. Then it seemed that their carefully thought out plan for going down to 14 was: panic! Losing Jalibert can't have helped.
The red card looked harsh to me, but what do I know? They have rules and protocols, and they're the same for everyone.
As to that last kick it was the combination of drama and complicated laws that RU excels in these days.

Do the Laws give the referee the option to reset the kick clock and allow the kicker to reset after the ball falls off the kicking tee?

Earlier in the game the ref had the shot clock stopped because he had the kick repositioned.

Great game today. France should have been miles ahead at half time, but the Italian defence and discipline was unreal (which the ITV commentators unsurprisingly failed to notice).
Not sure the red even made that much of a difference to be honest, but there isn't really much to debate there: no mitigation, high degree of danger.

They also had a water carrier wandering around in front of Garbisi while he was lining it up, which shouldn't have been allowed.
Other than that I thought the ref had a very good game, not an easy debut.
