Certainly never get bored with the British weather. I was just reminiscing the other day about Easter Sundays rolling our Easter eggs as kids. I remember everything from being huddled up in thick jackets with sleet blowing in our faces to lying on picnic blankets in blazing sun in shorts and t shirts.

Many years ago (in the 70s) we decided on a weeks holiday in April. We chose Carbis Bay in Cornwall.
We left here in fog, hail and frost.
Got to Carbis Bay and we were sunbathing on the beach.
UK weather eh.

The grandkids are here for the day

None have died yet although it has been cloae at times
The female one has kidnapped my laptop as she left her phone in her Dad's cat which is a disaster!!

I may not survive the day

I know, I know. You've been waiting with baited breath, which colour scheme did Paul go with? Well coordinated or fashion faux pas? Finally settled on black jersey, bibs and armwarmers, the little black number for cycling, highlights with a bright turquoise gilet which was set off with a blue and turquoise buff.

Good ride today. 64 miles, 15avg. Happy with that.

You are so far ahead of me in cycle fitness that I am demoralised!

Perhaps I should be inspired...

Chilly at first but then warming up a bit ride around Willen Lake, Milton Keynes, with Grandson today..
No BBQ's allowed there, apparently, so we took our disposable one to the banks of the Grand Union Canal 🍔

Will it be a case of waiting on nature taking it's course, or a trip to the vets!

Ahhh

now I see what you lot are on about

I genuinely have a problem seeing mistakes like that

Once I have typed it I can;t see it as different to what I meant to type

when I was a teacher (yes - I know!) I used to tell the kids
NEVER point to something and ask if you have spelt it right
ask me how to spell the word without showing me what you have done

other wise I will only be able to see the way you have already spelt it - I will be able to see it is wrong - but not the right way

I know - weird - but I think telling them that helps the ones with problems - e.g. dyslexia and all that

My spelling is just fine

typing however.........

When I was first issued with a laptop by the company I worked for (this was way back in the 90's) the mantra for messages (emails) was quick & dirty spelling as long as the message intent was clear.

I have to admit I struggled with that.

And 'youngster' speak totally freaks me out.

Don't be demoralised. I suspect our circumstances are different. If you're riding solo it takes real determination to get stuck in and avoid finding excuses not to ride.

There's some very tough stuff happening in my personal life with Mrs P's health. You know I have two regular cycling buddies, we are close, we come as a package as one of them said to me last week. My buddies have given me physical and mental support since the diagnosis and RTC. I have a PT who was a close friend before we started working together two years ago. I've had six months of PT advice, support, workouts, etc. I was stunned when I got my Cervelo out and found I could ride it properly. That's 100% down to my PT who put together a programme to rebuild me physically and listened to me when I needed rebuilding mentally.

I wouldn't have rebuilt my fitness without the support I've had, I might well have stopped.
