What's the chances of losing your seat?I have risen! 1st!
Got to do some paperwork for then forthcoming parish council elections today.
I was put on Statins a year ago, my cholesterol was marginal my blood pressure was up a little and I was a little overweight.
I have lost 11 kilos, and made a few changes to my life style and everything was looking good.
But,
There is now an algorithm called Qrisk that calculates the risk taking in your height, weight, blood pressure, age, ethnicity and cholesterol and gives a score. I believe if that score is over 10.5 statins will be prescribed.
hmm - seems like mine is 13.5 - which would explain why they have prescribed statins
thanks - useful to know the parameters
Just about every man in the village has been prescribed statins and all of them felt so ill that I don't know of any who are still taking them.

I have had no side effects in the year since being prescribed statins, and since going on them the amount of people who I have met that are on them is quite amazing.
It would appear to me that this is a preventative measure by the government/NHS to try to slow hospital admissions for strokes and heart attacks.
I have just seen a bee. Seems too early. Hope he survives as the nights are still very cold.
Also, my grandson is mowing the garden. So spring is officially here![]()
