A few hours yet before we go to bed - probably around 4pm I would guess.

There are several G&T's in us yet...
How many left to go?

Good morning all.
It's a cold frosty start to the day here. :cold:
MrsP and myself had a dose of the D's and V's yesterday. We think it was either the sweet and sour prawns or the chicken in lemon sauce, or maybe the special fried rice. There was me extolling the virtues of the great Chinese takeaway near us, it normally is very good, and this tasted excellent.
We are still fragile this morning. 😟
The car is in for its MOT this morning , and Millie needs to walked as usual.

Morning all :hello:

Off to Minehead this morning for some shopping; LIDL &Tesco.
Think I've finally shaken off the cold/cough that's been around since Christmas.

Good morning, it's a beautiful if cold day. There are several interesting posts to read, I will catch up later. I should be riding but Shimano have failed me. I'm not ranting as the di2 shifting is excellent, the problem is with all the peripheral stuff which frankly is shite. I regard myself as a reasonably intelligent consumer but have encountered numerous issues which surround the workings of di2. I would say the fault lays 100% with Shimano. At the moment I would never consider buying Shimano equipment again.

Next task is the ironing and then a visit to my LBS to discuss three possibilities on the group set; switch to SRAM, configure the di2 so it is 100% cabled and manual, ditch the di2 and go back to full cabling. It'll also be a good opportunity to chat about my planned new gravel wheels and the summer bike question.

I often think the so called advances in cycling equipment are naff. Just unnecessary money spinners for the manufacturers that only really benefit the top pros where every second counts.

I would have to say yes and no to this. I feel electronic shifting itself is superior to manual. The issues I'm encountering are what I term peripheral.

Quick examples. The Shimano app fails to connect with the system at least 50% of the time. The app is needed to check battery levels.

The language used in the manual and app is difficult to understand. Some of the more technical wording I simply don't understand. The illustrations are poor.

It was only last night when I connected my Wahoo to the system I discovered the shifter batteries are worryingly low.

I could go on but won't unless someone is interested. I think this shows while the shift is great, the surrounding stuff isn't good enough. In future if a reasonable alternative is available I won't buy any Shimano product. The company has let me down.
