Gosh, it's quiet this morning. Mind you looking outside a comfy bed and coffee is a good idea. In Lancashire it's dank, damp and chilly. The sort of weather that gets in your bones.

We have a busy family day ahead. #2 son and I are going to Rovers v Wolves in the FA Cup. If this goes to extra time and penalties we will potentially be in the ground for around 2¾ hours! 😮 Meanwhile #3 son has been despatched to a local garden centre to collect shelving for my new shed. By 2.00pm #1 son + family, #3 son + family should have arrived for the afternoon. The plan is we all eat at 4.00pm.

Mrs P decided on this. I warned from the outset I would be at the footie. I expect to arrive home to chaos and a kitchen that needs tidying........at the least! 😂

Good morning all.
A gloomy, dull damp start to the day here.
My second mug of tea is being drunk at the moment :cuppa: :cuppa:, then I'll be out with Millie for a walk.
A session on the turbo is on the cards for later. Then I will be steeling myself to watch the Spurs debacle on the BBC at 5.30 as they take on Aston Villa.😳 its no fun supporting at the moment.

As a Birmingham City supporter ( for my sins ), I can remember a time when we were calling the Villa " Aston Vanilla " because everyone was licking them....

Well - I'm up

Grandkids came down with their Dad yesterday so their Dad could give me a lift to Tesco to get a load of food- which was good of him

They are "supposed" to be coming back today so we can look after them while their Dad takes the eldest climbing
but I suspect the middle one (7 - autistic - and also knows how to use it to get his way!!" - will veto it
which will be accepted because
a) her climbing is not important to the family
b) they don;t value the fact that seh enjoys it - nor the 2 lessons we got her that taught her a lot that she is now forgetting
c) it has been argued that she is a girl - so climbing is not something she should be doing - as a girl
d) she is the eldest and the only one without medical problems - so less important (did I mention she is a girl??)

all of which annoys us - not that she is more important - just as important

anyway - must stop whining and moaning

I have made an important decision. Paul will be having a new summer road bike. My main concern about this is I love my carbon Cervelo C3. I need something at least as good. She fits me like a glove. It was £3000 in 2016. I truly fret over getting it wrong and buying something I don't enjoy as much.

I see two choices. I would value opinions.

1. Buy a new bike with a probable cost of £5 - 7000

2. Have the Cervelo stripped, repainted and rebuilt. It's disc braked. I add a new electronic group set and wheels. I don't know the cost but imagine it will be lower.

Any views?

what's your annual mileage approx ? how much mileage has the C3 done ?

Snowblowers… never saw the need when I was 30, love mine now.

About on par with being a Chelsea fan I should think. I have to admit that, very unusually, I have not bothered watching several matches in 2025.
