Ah, you also read the word 'mug' as 'pervert'.

My Dad has met him in a professional capacity (the royal flight were buying a new helicopter) and he says the chap is a complete arse.

I have never thought of the word "mug" in that meaning

I just thought of it as meaning either the drinking vessel or idiot

I hadn't either, I was thinking of it more in tune with Private Eye front cover today, but, interesting that it has another meaning. Every day is a school day 🙂

I took advantage of a bit of sun today and went for a 30 kms ride but blimey, it was cold. Legs are aching now as it was only my 3rd ride this year.
I wish I could go out more but the weather is not helping and I stick to being a fair weather rider.

I'm putting in a complaint. We were promised wall to wall sunshine and 8⁰. What we got was sunny spells with rain. Fortunately the rain was always ahead of us but it left the roads wet and the air temperature friggin' cool!!!! I hugged the radiator in the cafe.

What are the chances of the following?
Two people born in the same area.
They share the same name, first & surname, month & year of birth.
One of these marries two others with similar names, same first and initial, but not surname.
The marriages are recorded as taking place in the same month & year.
Records give the registration district as being one & the same.
Showing consecutive entries on the same page, in the same volume number.

Would it be pushing plausibility a bit too far?
