Sorry - just need to moan

Just got an email from ESSO - about a "thoughtful Driver" quiz

first question today - probably more coming up

anyway - after some waffle the question is basically
how much fuel can you save by braking and accelerating smoothly??

what??
compared to what??
I mean - If I want to practice beating Max to the first corner and Silverstone then I could take the engine to max rev and drop the clutch as the lights go Red
Then slam on the brakes from full speed as I approach every corner

or is it based on a normal driver (whatever that is) compared to someone who decides to make a serious effort to save money??

I hate the stupid questions that seem sensible but even a simple question makes them nonsense - but most people will not realise!!!

OK OK - end moan

Had an interesting day due to the power of FB.
An old mate, who I haven't seen for at least 55 years, popped up on my feed.
I 'friended' him and he got back to me almost immediately. Turns out that he's still in touch with contemporaries from junior school, most of which I remember - also mates from my early teens.
He started a WhatsApp group - which I've joined - and I've spent most of the day reminiscing with long lost old pals.
Power of the internet, eh?

Do that and you'd be Black Flagged!
Red lights mean Don't Go/Stop/Race Stopped.

I love Leeds . It’s such a vibrant city . My brother in law lives close by and we always have a terrific time when we go and visit.
But it does mean we get led astray by my brother in law and we eat and drink far to much 😀 and also if you go out in the evening , you will feel incredibly old 😂. It’s a very young city .
