Good morning all. It's a clear sky at the moment and the strange yellow thing is just coming up.
The cats and the dog have been fed, and I'm on my first mug of tea whilst listening to Tony Blackbum on the radio.
A nice long dog walk will be had before we stop at the Mitre on the way home for a spot of lunch.
There's the Wimens Paris-Roubaix on the telly this afternoon and I've got a couple of films to watch this evening, Schindlers list, and Saving Private Ryan which I've had recorded ages ago but have never seen.

Strange....... I am also listening to Tony Blackburn but did not see you

I have seen both of those films and really enjoyed them.

Morning all :hello:

Starting to get a bit edgy about whether my caravan will be ready to go for Wednesday.
Still awaiting parts to fix the toilet flush and not 100% certain that the part I've identified is the one causing the problem (it's the PCB).
They said it should be here by Monday. Fingers crossed.
My new leisure battery is supposed to be delivered today.
I'm out of practice with this caravanning lark and it's starting to become a bit stressful. We'll be OK once we arrive on site and get set up.
More tinkering to do today - car & caravan washing etc.

Hello to all.
Today I am having the existing patio ripped out and a new BIGGER one made**. As I am struggling to walk I plan to enjoy sitting in the garden and watching the birdies.
**it is being done over 2 weekends so I will bore you with photos next week
You mean the week after?
Or will next weeks pictures be of the work in progress. Followed the following week by the work completed and you sat outside, watching the birdies?

Waiting today for some new screwdriver bits - triangular ones!
need them (need may be doing some heavy lifting there!0) to remove the plate on the bottom on the air fryer so I can get at the main power connection
WHich I am hoping is on screw in connections - if it is soldered then I will have to break out the soldering iron

Reason is that the air fryer kicks out a lot of hot air (enter sarky comment here) which goes up under the kitchen cabinets and could mess up the finish - was has happened near the hob and oven

so I want to extend the cable - but don;t want to use a proper extension for a 1 foot length!

I am sure I have seen them on something else I "need" to look at
still - only a few quid

In the meantime I will go to the Farm Shop soon for potatoes (hopefully less black bits than usual recently) and beetroots because we saw Michael whatsit - the health doctory type person on the telly - last night and beetroots got mentioned - and my wife, who eats about 1 portion of fruit and veg a WEEK , expressed interest in roasted beetroot and beetroot soup.
I am assuming it was nothing to do with the side comments on the programme about it having a "similar effect for Viagra"

if my writing gets all wobbly in the next few days then you will know why!!!! (if not @Drago is available for help!!!)

Beetroot juice is supposed to be great for helping recovery from exercise and also reducing blood pressure. I presume eating actual beetroots will have at least some of the same effects.

I fasted from 4pm last night until brekkie at 10am so 18 hours. I've had a big bowl of porridge made with almond milk and some sliced banana and a handful of blueberries in it. Stuffed now.

Hmm
not sure about the fasting thing
does a few Thortons chocolates and a packet of chocolate raisins count????
Did have porridge this morning - with a handful of frozen raspberries

BTW - youngest grandkid loves frozen raspberries - I give him the tiny broken bits while he is waiting for breakfast
he does need a face wipe after - but after his porridge he needs a jet wash anyway so it isn;t a problem

welsh dragon

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I am making a cake. Coffee ( no walnuts)

The Beetroot thingy is something to do with the nitrates. The long distance running community take it in concentrated " shots " as it's believed to enhance performance and stamina. 😎

Managed to cut my lawns, wash the caravan & wash the car before it started raining.
New battery arrived for the caravan and that has duly been installed. Just waiting on the toilet flush PCB now. If it doesn't arrive on time we can always use a watering can to flush the bog.
Pretty much good to go now - just hoping the weather holds up from Wednesday onwards.
