Tuesday walking group and blue bin day today, plus we have a visit from Mrs Tkk's cousin who she hasn't seen for 60 years 😮. ( They exchange letters each Christmas), Her cousin and her husband are getting the ferry to the Channel Islands from Poole so they're arriving early for a meet up. This visit of course requires a major spring clean and I've been told to move my Brommie from the living room 😮

Good morning all.
Sainsbury's are delivering the weekly goodies shortly, then I am dropping MrsP off at South Mimms services where she is meeting her friends. They are off the Highcleer Castle, the setting for Downtown Abbey, for a visit, with an overnight stay in a local hotel spa place.
So it's just me and the dog for two days.
Its cloudy outside and it looks like it has started to rain.

Know it well - or more accurately , knew it well many years ago!
No idea why now - but I used to ride down there quite often
which is weird as it wouldn;t really lead me anywhere that I used to go????

Wasn;t there a Scout Hut down there??
6th Moreton or something - maybe

I ask because I was in the 2nd Moreton Venture Scouts and we were the only Venture Scouts in Moreton so Scouts from the 4th and 6th Scouts troops joined us when they left normal Scouts
I think we had a large group (i.e. about 6) of them join at one point so we used to go to their hut sometimes

I don't know about the scouts.
The Clipper pub was there but I can't imagine anyone travelling to go there. I lived close by but only went once which was once too many.

Good morning all.
Not a lot to do.
Aldi. A mate is coming to watch the match on Saturday (Utd Vs Lpool) and its traditional for me supply lots cheese and crusty bread. Tuesday is normally quiet so I will get mixed cheeses plus part bake cobs.
Library. I really should have returned my books on Saturday but just wasn't up to it.
Phone call. The people fitting my new kitchen have left a message asking me to call them. The fitting date is 23rd April so it could be anything.

Yes - I was told about The Clipper and never went there
if the people that told me about it avoided it then is was VERY well worth avoiding!

did frequent The Plough for quite a few years - Lounge Bar so the posh bit - still pretty grotty

went back many years later and it was all pink
and I mean ALL pink
number of people went up and down like a - err - fiddler's elbow - turned out it was a meeting point for trendy people meeting up for a drink before getting the bus into Birkenhead for the night
didn't stay long

Anyway - to day is busy - CT scan for my wife this morning
then picking up teh grand-daughter to go climbing for the afternoon
then getting "the other 2" grandkids and having them overnight so the parents can do some over time to pay for the forthcoming wedding

at some point we are going to have to think about wedding presents - but given the number of times we are "having the kids" to pay for it I am beginning to think we should be GETTING the presents rather than giving it!!!!!

Anyway - must avoid Victoria park with the kids tomorrow
nice playground - but there is a fair there this week and it would cost less to just burn £20 notes than take them there!!!!!

anyway - better get some breakfast!

been meaning to ask the Collective something

Last time I picked the Grand Daughter (female aged 11) up from school I put the radio on in the car

It has become tuned to some station that seems to play some decent music

anyway - Led Zepplin came on - I think it was Kashmire

so I turned it up

Grand-daughter put her hands over her ears and told me to turn it down as it was TOO LOUD

so - some questions

a) was that cool?
b) can Led Zepplin be too loud it the speaker don't actually burst or jump out of the car?
c) should we send her to a re-education centre for the musically undeveloped??
d) was it just embarrassing?

Maybe I should note that her gran - my wife - sometimes used to embarrass her son (the father of said grand-kid) when he went to his bedrrom with some mates and put music on
They like rap and that stuff - this was in the 1990s ish
She used to yell upstairs about the music
telling him to turn it up as she couldn;t hear it downstairs

apparently she was embarrassing - I think I did similar with my daughter when she was a kid

Definitely need an education in regards to music.
You can't play Led Zeppelin too loud by the way.
