Some strange but good news I got yesterday.
I don't want to mention names but I got a letter from a well known financial company. Apparently I am due a pension payout from a company I must have worked for years ago. I don't recognise the company but companies get swallowed up and change names regularly and as I have had a lot of different jobs it could be anyone.
It's not a massive amount but I had 4 choices ie take a weekly/monthly/annual or one off payment. I have gone for the one off.
It's Ā£7.500.
I don't need it so will give it to my daughter and SiL...... daughter is having an operation on her gums which the NHS won't fund, cost Ā£5,500.
So it's very timely.
BTW, it's all genuine. I have checked it out and spoken personally to the financial company.
Better than a kick in the balls as they say.

Didn't you have another pension that you knew nothing about last year? You lucky thing. And that's a nice gesture for a good cause. šŸ‘

Yes I did. That gave me a L/S plus a small annual payout.
I assume that as I have worked for many companies I must have had pensions I was unaware of.
I am told it will take several weeks to come through so, as I said, I am not mentioning names till then.
During the phone conversation the guy was very thorough and I was very honest so at this moment I believe its happening.

Today X-Ray for my teeth cancelled Ahhhhhhhhhhhh get's all the way up there to be told the appointment is not needed
after 18 mile drive and Ā£3.50 parking and 1/4 mile walk.
It's funny, but I had a premonition on this appointment since Friday.....
A week ago I had the same with a nurses appointment, get's all the way there no appointment, yet I still have the appointment card with the right date and time.
Next week I have another appointment with the dermartolagest, if that gets cancelled............ tommy-submachine-gun.gif

I had a free trial of Audible from Amazon ( well. not free but 99p per month for three months ) One of the books I downloaded was " Mythos " narrated by Stephen Fry. When Mrs Tkk was away I'd set it to play at low volume on the bedside table, his sonorous tones would send me to sleep quite quickly. When i awoke the following morning he was still narrating as the aidui book is 15 1/2 hours long. The following night I'd start from the beginning again šŸ˜€

Isn;t there a web site that you can use to track down any "lost" pensions

I was just thinkg tha there might be people on here that changed company quite a bit and lost track of some when they changed names and all that
I seem to remember reading about one ages ago - didn;t apply to me as I didn;t move around much

but worth checking up on - better in you pocket than a bank or big finance company!
