Yeah, but what about when someone asks you how you are and when you start to tell them they either cut you dead with another not interested in the answer question, or even worse just walk away without waiting for your answer. 🧐

You must still be pretty young, as I watched casualty as an adult, it was Angels I watched as a child.

I can trump that Slick! I remember watching this on Friday nights with my mum, when dad went out with his workmates for a pint or two.

My Mum didn't want us to watch Home And Away after someone died in a car crash with their love there at the site, or something.

Ironic, seeing as we watched Casualty and 'Sick Kids' (a documentary series about a children hospital, which admittedly was on STV/ITV) to a band playing. The more gory the better!

So into Casualty were we, that we'd pretend to do operations on our teddies... They were defibrillated more times than a fat man running a marathon!

I got hooked on early 90s Home and Away. Meg's leukaemia seemed a hard-hitting storyline, especially as I'd just lost my first grandparent.; I really didnt expect such emotions from watching an aussie soap!


For light humour we watched the opening scenes of Casualty. The squash racket episode was a particular highlight.

I'm 41 now, so if it started in 1986... I'll let you do the maths. We LOVED to be scared!

To be fair, if it hadn't been for the family friend who was a Doctor, giving us a commentary, it probably would not have had the same resonance.
