When you realise you haven't a scooby about what a VAM is, or where you can get one.

Or if it will fit

Obviously not a circle I move in. But have a neighbour whose Scooby comes and goes at odd hours.
I felt sorry for him because it always sounds as if it won't get to the end of the road. I'd assumed it was on its way to the car park in the sky. Coughs and wheezes and grunts

I'm considering joining a spring/summer league bowls team, but also wondering if it might be too strenuous for me. 🤔

Strenuous, STRENUOUS! Don't make me laugh. 😆

At least with Curling you have so many things to learn, to watch, to judge, to communicate and that is before you find yourself potentially running down the ice sideways whilst simultaneously looking forwards, backwards, at the line the stone has already taken, at where it is currently, at where it's going, whilst talking to the skip, your fellow sweeper, at the person who has just played it, you then might get a little bit of exercise to your arms, of which you need to learn to judge yourself, regardless of what the skip says, whilst all the while not falling over, the skill of learning how to fall/land is an extra bonus... Because you are on ice.
You also need to be looking out for other stones in play so you don't stand on, move (burn) or trip over.

Oh and then there is perfecting the sliding delivery properly, getting your line correct, oh and tactics and stuff too.
The ice is always different due to atmospheric changes too and it's behaviour can alter during a game, so it is never a uniform thing either.

Bowls, strenuous? PFFT! 😆

Seems to be some confliction in the definitions presented.
Rhyming slang suggests a movement or a brand of motor vehicle.
Or is it a comment on the quality of the vehicle?

Don't understand that, which exactly what a Scooby is, in the context it was being used.
