That was part of my sales pitch to the wife. I argued we could use the hoist to lift her in her wheelchair and put her in the back.

I had similarly predictable outcome explaining that a Landrover 101 was the ideal vehicle to tow her horse box. It was designed from off to tow a light gun, so would have been perfect I'd have thought. She did get a 110 TDi which I thought pretty cool though

A pal used to drive them "for work" and said they did 90!
I'd reckon on an indicated 80MPH, from one that a friend owned
At that speed, the canvas is flapping like crazy, door-tops rattling, absolutely no change of even shouting at each other
Plus........ the scary prospect of braking on aging bar-grips (awful tyres in the wet!!)
The (4-speed) gearbox is shared with the (earlier) 'series 1' Range-Rover, so can accept the overdrive that was optional for that

His usual vehicle was an Abbot so maybe he'd only had the odd go in a 101
