Maybe these would be better for me than the Cordings ones. I already have two pairs of brown tweed pants, one a kind of sage mid brown, one mid to dark brown. Do I need another pair of tweeds in a different shade of brown. 🤔 I don't have any blue tweeds so maybe these are the ones for me. They also offer a free of charge hemming on the 36 inch in length pants and free P&P, compared to the Cordings ones which are £15 to be sewn to your required length and £7 to be delivered. I've just bought a second hand Aquascutum trench coat in the hope it'll make me look like Humphrey Bogart, some of those had a similar check in the lining.

I almost bought a Ralph Lauren trench coat in Tkmax tonight but I don't think I'd wear it that often, I'm more of a wax jacket fan at the moment.

I have two, not wear that often, trench coats. One an olive coloured gabardine one the other a brown wool one. I'm not keen on the belt stuff though. I definitely can not wear them with the belt tied in a knot ( too untidy and dare I say pretentious, for me) and when I wear the belt correctly buckled style it has to be tight, not loose and sloppy looking, which accentuates my maybe too slim waist. 🤔

We may as well give up, none of us are ever going to look as good as Humphrey Bogart. He even wore his own suits in a lot of his films.

I do need to cultivate an air of narcissistic insouciance in order to carry it off. I should probably take up smoking again to complete the style, although Bogie died in his 50s so that might not be such a great idea.
