Accy, I like your Borsalino hat, it suits you and I think you should keep it.
I also admire the check shirt you’re wearing in the photo. If it happens to be a15 1/5 inch collar and you grow tired of it, bear me in mind as a worthy recipient. ( I am a fellow shoe tree advocate)

That shirt is a Viyella Tattersall shirt, which usually sell for about £100. I found it in a charity shop a fortnight ago for £4.50 and it was brand new with the tags/labels still on! And yes, it is a 15 inch collar. :okay:

Shirts are so last season now. To be up to date you need to go to polo shirts.

Polo shirts are ok in warm weather. I often wear a decent make Ralph Loren, Fred Perry etc with a cravat. The cravat adds a bit of individuality and if like me you have a 'scrawny neck', they fill that sometimes too large a gap between your neck and the collar and they keep the neck warm on cooler, breezy days.

All in MY opinion, of course!:okay:

On about polos, I find well fitted, high neck, roll neck sweaters are a nice alternative to a collar and tie/cravat. The higher/tighter the neck, the better it looks!

I wear polo neck all winter, mainly merino as they are nice and warm and look ok.
Apparently the fashion industry is trying to phase out collar and tie and replace with high neck or polo.
Not sure that will work as formal occasions still need a tie I think. I have only worn a tie for funerals recently.

What is a tie?

My dad loved his cravats
