You'll get nowhere with an aggressive approach. Give them a chance to sort things out.
I hope they do reply then I won't have to send my man @Drago round to have a quiet word with them!! 🧐
No worries Boss.
Er, is this a plain brown envelope job, or a leather gloves job?
I've just phoned them. They were ok, saying they've been very busy with orders etc. They said they will definitely get back to me via email hopefully today, but if not by tomorrow at the latest. This kind of eases the situation. I hope they do reply then I won't have to send my man @Drago round to have a quiet word with them!! 🧐
Tim doesn't get paid enough to deal with this nonsense.
He probably doesn't as he's probably the one who gets it in the neck all the time for his employer's incompetence!
If you're not paying full price then drop the entitlement. It's a sale, they're flogging off the last few bits they couldn't shift, quite possibly at a loss (I dunno what margins are like in the millinery trade). That's why there was a stock mix up, but that comes with sale shopping. If you want a specific item then be prepared to pay full price or wait and take your chances. I doubt they're trying to be your best friend but I doubt they're trying to fleece you either.
The black poet fedora I'm inquiring about is at the last few sizes available stage now that the green and bronze ones were when they decided to half their price. I'm thinking the black one will be going on sale very soon, so I thought I'd ask for it for a reduced price seeing as they still owe me £152. All I'm asking for is a yes or no, so I can then ask for the black one, or if they say no I'll ask for my money back. I've messaged Cordings in the past asking if certain jackets, suits etc will be in a sale of theirs soon and they've always replied either yes or no promptly, unlike Hilditch & Key. I still think they went about it the wrong way by taking the money out in less than 12 hours then telling me the item I'd just paid for wasn't available and I more or less have to look for another of their items, instead of immediately emailing me to tell me they had cancelled the bank transfer from mine to theirs!
If someone came in the retro clothing shop I work in and asked if I could knock something off the price of an item I'd either ask the owner, or if he wasn't in I'd phone or text him with him replying in a few minutes at the most. I wouldn't say "Oh, er I don't know. Can you come back next week and hopefully I'll be able to let you know"!
